Often have wizards, dragons, uniforms, elves
Fantasy: Imaginary, make-believe, pretend
Differs from other fiction because contains unreal things that could never be real, break
rules of what we know
Might be set in completely made up world
Can still make connections to our own lives
Many people use it as an escape
Often set in the future and involve technology
Fairy tales: short (sometimes shorter version of fantasy piece)
oLack specificity (of characters & settings)
Realistic settings: primary worlds, fantasy settings: secondary worlds
Usually some kind of opening or portal between worlds
