There could be a control group ( get no treatment or placebo) Ex: putting a bandaid on a cut . A patient shows improvement after taking the placebo. Single blinding: the subject does not know if they are getting the placebo or not. Double blinding: both the researcher and the subject do not know if they are getting the placebo. Researcher uses language/ body language that could reveal to the subject whether they have received the placebo or not. Double blinding can reduce the experimenter e ect. Ex: being a night owl causes yeast infections. Missing link is poor hygiene, poor diet, and lack of sleep.
