Autonomic balance (ans: balance between sns and pns, n regulates (cid:862)fight or flight(cid:863) Increases heart rate, breathing, and affects other factors that allow for rapid response to stimuli: parasympathetic nervous system (pns) = regulates digestion, etc. Sns and pns operate opposite of each other= when one is on the other is off: smart vagus model. In primitive brains can cause freezing in situations of danger.
