About 60% of the time during warren court era, the supreme court ruled in favor of the defendants. Moved more conservative again, the crime control position. Criminal defendants only winning 35% of the time. Kept the more conservative law and order approach ruling in favor of defendants. Bill of rights - minimum enforcement of rights (constitutional rights) But states/federal gov"t can pass laws to give further rights, but not less.
