BIO 330 Lecture Notes - Lecture 12: Golgi Apparatus, Plant Cell, Centriole
BIO 330 Lecture notes 12:
• Cell Membrane
• Controls what enters and leaves the cell.
• Cell Wall
• Rigid outer layer of a plant cell.
• Centriole
• Made of micro tubules that function during cell division.
• Cilia
• Numerous projections that look like hairs.
• Cytoplasm
• Semi fluid material where organelles are found.
• Chloroplast
• Captures energy from the sunlight and uses it to produce food in plant cells.
• Endoplasmic Reticulum
• Has passageways that carry proteins and other materials from one part of the cell to
another.
• Flagella
• Basically the same thing as cilia, but longer and less numerous.
• Golgi Apparatus
• Receives proteins and materials from the ER, packages them, and distributes them.
