Procedure of taking Waist Circumference
CUE
- Clear all clothing
- Please stand with feet shoulder width apart
- Have your arms crossed over the chest
MEASURE
- Find the *superior edge of the iliac crest
- Palpate the upper right hipbone untill you locate the upper most lateral border
- Draw a Horizontal Line
- STAND ON THE RIGHT SIDE
- Use Cross handed technique
- You are positioning the tape in the horizontal plane around the abdomen.
- Apply enough tension without causing indentation to the skin .
- At the end of normal expiration take measurement
- Measure to the nearest 0.5cm
