Document Summary
Module 11 notes - identifying & selecting curriculum materials. Curriculum material assist an instructor in bringing about an intended desirable behavior change in individual students. Some points to consider: teaching materials, regardless of whether they are visual (textbooks), audio, multimedia, or computer, have no particular pedagogical virtue. They are only an extension of the professor and are only as effective as the professor who uses them: considered as aids to assist learning, no teaching material is better than any other for a given learning task. In a learning situation, improvements are rarely attributable solely to the teaching material used. Explain to the student what they should observe and what you expect of them from the presentation: audio materials. Some examples are: puzzles, games, models, specimens, learning kits, experiments, trainer, simulators, puppet/figures. Internet is another tool the instructor can use to deliver the material.
