Turns-per-inch (tpi): 1inch=2. 45 cm: soft twist or hard twist - spun yarns, crepe-filament yarns. Twist direction: s twist: spirals run up and left like the letter s , z twist: spirals run upward to the right like a z . Directions of the twists affects the appearance on the surface: novelty yarns. Carded and mix in other fibers into yarns: yarns are spotted or have designs this way.
