Charges can be completely dismissed if the prosecutor doesnt bring indictment within 30 days of arrest and full trial must begin within 70 days. They can know about the case but can not have already formed an opinion. Challenges to the array move the trial location. Is acceptable for death penalty cases where the potential jury doesnt agree with capital punishment. Limited 20 for federal cases, 3 for state cases. cannot use just for excluding certain races or gender. Grand jury private citizens who hear from prosecution. Person guilty not present. serve as filter to eliminate cases with insufficient evidence to proceed. double jeopardy does not apply.
