Reparations- huge payments of $ to the allies to compensate for financial losses during wwi. Treaty of versailles: central powers lose significant amounts of territory. Germany loses african territories and some others to the allied powers. Ottoman empire (turkey) loses what is now syria, iraq, lebanon, and palestine.
