The land bridge theory: archaeologists found a 1 year old boy who died in the montana region, roots came from asia, siberia specifically, supports the land bridge theory. Made europeans believe these people had no discipline (a tyrant is sooo important) These people believed kinship and trust between people and their tribal group. 3 main differences between europeans and indigenous americans: religion. Most indigenous american"s were religious and generally had one god. Saw no division in religion and secular life wind, trees, water, fire. Their religious ceremonies were based on hunting and farming. Often succumbed into the idea of magic. Wanted indigenous people to believe christianity: land use. There were fights and protecting of their land. But did not see land as a personal commodity that could be sold or owned. A personal possession for the entire tribe. Would not understand the buy/sell/expectation of land. Chiefs were known to be generous with the things you acquired.
