Such allelic variation can affect food perception, choice, and consumption and thus can influence nutrition and predispose to certain diseases. Rats selectively bred for sucrose-consumption were more dominant and illness. Increase in insulin and decrease in blood glucose. You body is in homeostatic balance until food is introduced, which is disruptive.
