For everything he did in the east to be formally ratified. Caught trying to bear witness to a religious right, only open to women. Caesar supports clodius, becomes a useful allie. Caesar wants to run for consul, yet the election is before his triumph date. Decides he does not want this display of glory, wants to run for the consulship. Pompey, caesar, and crassus for this alliance. Pompey and crassus are not getting along. Pompey coming back from east, still has his army. Caesar is about to be consul, gain political power. Cato is upset about this and funds a opponent. 59 - bibulus and caesar both become consuls. Caesar goes against all of bibulus" laws. Caesar takes his reforms directly to the assembly. Invited cicero, yet he declines on moral principle.
