Seems to think slavery is wrong unless it"s natural but doesn"t really define what naturally makes someone a slave. Everything he says goes completely against what plato thinks. Plato- more abstract, all earthly things are meaningless. Ex: relationship between slave and master like that of body and soul: naturalism and axiology. Hylomorphism- term for metaphysics matter and form. Relates matter to body and soul to form. Combinations of soul and body allows human beings to serve as self organizing structures, takes care of itself. Efficient cause of growth- motion of the soul. We can infer by how things are naturally, how they ought to be when then can perform whatever they are made to do. Breakdown of beings into: nutritive growth, sense, perception, desires, thought. Thinks the capacity for thought is brought on by the ability to reflect on self as a species. Families are most basic requirement to fulfill self sufficiency. Humans have power of speech- connected to thought.
