He wants success in the present life more than his interested in his thereafter (death, afterlife) He is a revolutionary related to restoration to his homeland. He has a dif view of what human beings are, and how they should be. The brave individual doesn"t think about the cost of the pain. Doing the right thing for the right reason only bc afraid of consequences, afraid to be arrested. Not doing the right thing for the right motive. We"re not concerned about why people stop at red lights, everyone will stop at reds lights for different reasons. It won"t work at all to say just do the right thing .
