Personality assessment using tools, different forms of assessment to test / look at how their personality would have an effect on treatment. Theory: statement about the relationship between constructs or events. Differ in the range of events or phenomena they explain. Internal consistency: how cohesive the different parts of the theory are how do the parts of a theory all fit together. Comprehensiveness: how many aspects of personality are covered?are you looking at all aspects of a certain phenomenon (exa: anxiety biological, psychological, behavioral, etc. ) Parisomy: explaining the phenomenon in the simplest form possible (fewest principles, fewest assumptions) eliminate unnecessary variables. Hypothesis: statement made about the relationship between at least two variable in a manner consistent with a particular theory. Theory is unaccepted if empirical investigations consistently fail to confirm predictions. Confirmation of hypothesis does not necessarily prove the theory.
