Legal concerns: procedures of the tests serve to discriminate against certain groups. Equal rights legislature: establishment of legal guidelines to ensure that tests are valid in nature and do not discriminate. Impacts of equal rights legislation: greater attention paid to the development and validation of tests. Social concerns: does an assessment unfairly impact a participant"s life. Unfair labeling: label assigned and follows an individual (treatment by social figures) Self-fulfilling prophecy: individuals will behave in congruence with the label assigned to them (similar to stereotype threat) Based only on his specific case studies (no real research) Methods people use to cope w/ sexual and aggressive urges. Psychodynamic: more general term, includes freud"s work along with those whose work was loosely based off of the work of freud (adler, carl jung, anna freud) Psychic determinism: the idea that our behavior is not by chance there is some psychic reason for the occurrence of our behavior (thoughts, feelings, actions, etc. )
