Document Summary
Power supplies are most likely to die. These are clues of a slow death. How to test for a power supply: Use an old motherboard (you don"t even need a cpu on it) + a volt meter. Multimeter v with line and three dots = dc. All power supplies come from the factory over bolted. For example, if the connector it"s a 12 volt, it"s going to come out 12. 3, or 12. 4 volts. Most systems work fine with a power supply with 12 outputs dropping below 12 volts. It can also be a clue that you are experiencing slow death. The first worrisome thing when assembling a computer is messing up with the cpu. Make sure to connect the fan, and/or the liquid cooling system before you try to boot anything up. The second worrisome thing when assembling a computer is the ram. It"s easy to put ram in the wrong place.
