Sun chief follows hopi indians from the american southwest who are horticulturalists. Also going to look at religious and ceremonial systems of horticulturalists as well as the kind of kinship and family relationships found in horticultural systems. System that generates stasis via group focused organization (descent kinship) A life history, or an ethnographic autobiography. Each hopi town as a population of 600 to 1500 with much variety over time. In bands we see small groups, low population density, highly mobile.
