In one word what is the main thing you. Overall the south is not going through a period of massive industrialization. They textile factories need cotton to make cloth. Without firing a gun without drawing a sword, should they make war on us, we could bring the whole world to our feet no you dare not make war on cotton. No one would start a war on the south because they needed cotton for their industry. More people want it because it makes the cotton more accessible. Cotton is going more west, to texas and is the dominant crop of the south. Many were involved with slave systems. (their boss may own slaves) Around the mississippi, had the most slaves per house. About half of the slave owners had 1-4. Most slaves worked in the cotton industry. Had powers of incredible attractions (animals and humans) Had to carry it when they fished.
