Our interactions and communication create, re-create and change orgs. Agency of actors generate social world: always constraints. D = study of talk and text (individual interaction) ** Ex; experience being in class and interacting with the teacher. D = overarching and enduring systems of thought/meaning ** Long term big ideas that shape our interactions: big ideas and values that we draw upon when we interact. Membership negotiations = people negotiating their roles, learning about their duties, and becoming insiders in the org. Self-structuring = organization itself, refers to policy documents and charts, official communication that is often written down that illustrated policies and procedures of the organization. Activity coordination = individual members of the org that talk to get things done, ex; writing a speech.
