The eight subheadings contained in a typical quantitative scholarly article: Title : the most straightforward title presents the topic, and specifically, the variables studied by the researcher. ~ the title has two parts with the first part specifying the general topic and the second part the specific variables studied. Abstract : a brief summary of the important points in that article; usually one-paragraph long. Encapsulates most important information in the article. Purpose of study, methods used, key findings from the study, and/or contribution. ~ orients reader to topic and why important. Review of relevant literature : one of the most crucial sections. ~ reflects many factors incl. author"s own style. ~ if on topic that has received considerable attention literature review is targeted to the research addressing topic. ~ finally, author poses formal research question or hypothesis. ~ author must explain how lit review led to the hypothesis or research question. ~ explains exactly how iv and dvs were operationalized.
