Creation of the constitution: transferred from kingship. Sovereign authority person / group that holds all the power & generates law. Sinterriata demand it be a part of the new government system = more power: this turned into the plebian assembly. Bi-cameral 2 political bodies: patrician senate & plebian assembly. Create a weak executive branch: a way for romans to maintain control. Pontifex maximus jobs (rituals) counsel & priest: martial & domestic. Plebians declare themselves independent: vote in senate, plebians are the warriors. Patricians needed plebians more than plebians needed patricians. 494 bc: conflict of the orders: plebian curiate. 462 bc: terentilius (plebian in the tribune) He proposed write the laws down : romans should make laws into book form. 450 bc: decemvirs & the codification twelve tables. A body of 10 men whose job is to write down the laws of rome. The twelve tables made romans different than others.
