After data analysis, construct a coherent narrative to. Statistical software and computers are used for data analysis (spss, sas, stata, r) Need good knowledge of research methods and statistics. Interpret output of analysis stage 1: get to know the data. Examine general features of data, clean the data as necessary. Good data descriptions involve numerical, pictorial/graphical, and verbal summaries stage 2: summarize the data. Variability or dispersion: range, standard deviation, variance, standard error of the mean, effect size stage 3: confirm what data reveal. Construct a confidence interval for population parameter. Ci for population mean: range of values which we state with a certain degree of confidence includes pop mean. Ci around an estimate of one mean with 95% confidence. Procedure for constructing ci for difference score is similar. Sub difference between 2 means in place of single mean. Use estimated standard error of the difference between 2 means.
