Taoism is esoteric inwards: look at the natural world instead of human beings. The term does not come from the indigenous understanding. European missionaries named it confucianism because they thought every religion should be named after a religious figure. Confucianism was named after kung: at the age of 70, what kung desired and the right conduct were one in the same. Community and scholarship are its main principles. Kung selected and came up with this point of view. * all human beings are teachable and perfectible: no limits. To separate / cut: opposite of what is holy that brings us together. We are schizophrenic: we know what"s right, but we don"t do it for selfish reasons. Old man and young man: age and youth, old man is holding up the young man.
