What are the fundamentals of music?
I. Pitch
a. A pitch is musical notes or signs
II. Duration
a. Duration is measurement of time of how long or short a note is
III. Intensity
a. Intensity is the volume of music, also known as dynamics
i. Pianissimo: very soft
ii. Piano: soft
iii. Mezzo piano: medium soft
iv. Fortissimo: very loud
v. Forte: loud
vi. Mezzo forte: medium loud
b. Crescendo is an increase from piano to forte
c. Decrescendo is a decrease from forte to piano
IV. Timbre
a. Timbre is the source of the sound, the musical instrument that creates the sound
