Members of execuives are categorized in poliical execuives and bureaucraic execuives. This highlights the diferences between poliicians and civil servants, as well as between poliics and administraion. Various levels of status and responsibility have been ideniied within execuives- they are usually pyramidal, organized according to a clear leadership structure. In parliamentary systems, the poliical execuive compromises appointed and professional civil servants who job it is to ofer advice and administer policy. Parliamentary execuive: an execuive, typically composed of a prime minister and cabinet, that is drawn from the accountable to the parliament, and is formed through parliamentary elecions. Presidenial execuive: an execuive that is headed by a separately elected president, who enjoys poliical and consituional independence from the parliament. Execuives tend to be centralized around the leadership of a single individual. A prime minister serves as the chief execuive, and the post head of state is usually held by a non-parisan igurehead.
