Action: don"t want to go to class. Ex. as a child, parents not responsive to the kid, the child becomes depressed because they do not feel cared. Attachment: child doesn"t get response from parents, get ignored, angry and becomes detached from parents, and depressed. Anxiety is future oriented; fear is present oriented. Anxiety is expressed through the: physical, cognitive, behavioral systems. Immediate physical reaction: fight or flight response. Cognitive: sense of dread, panic attacks choking, sensation, faint, watching your thoughts every moment and critiquing. Common symptoms: make excuse for being separated. Feel something gonna happen to mum/home when leaving. Etiology: can be caused by traumatic experience: tornado stay at school; moving to new environment make friends; chronic illness in hospital/home, and feel disconnected when back to school. Excessive worry and anxiety over many different areas of their life. Sensitive to fearful stimuli: eg. wathcing on news. Automatic restrictors: process on left brain(logic), restricting right hemisphere(not visualizing scenes)
