Higher mental functions: gray matter and white. The cerebrum has two hemispheres which are connected by corpus callosum: left language, right nonverbal. Cerebrum: houses the higher mental processes like language and spatial abilities, it is divided into 4 lobes. Left side of brain: controls right side, spoken and written language, numerical skills. Right side: emotional thinking, musical processing. Which is the largest of the 4 lobes: frontal. Frontal association area: judgement, personality, attention, abstract thought.
