Define the terms lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (lgbt) Analyze the issue of privacy in the media, specifically media coverage of gay marriage. Sexual orientation describes an enduring pattern of attraction emotional, romantic, sexual or some combination of these tothe opposite sex, the same sex, both, or neither and the genders that accompany them. Gender is a range of characteristics used to distinguish between males and females, particularly in the cases of men and women and the masculine and feminine attributes assigned to them. Framing theory is a theory of mass communication, refers to how the media packages and presents information to the public. According to the theory, the media highlights certain events and then places them within a particular context to encourage or discourage certain interpretations. In this way, the media exercises a selective influence over how people view reality. Anthropologist gregory bateson is credited with first positing the theory in 1972.
