New identity: white, male heterosexual, differently abled (blind / deaf / use a chair) When i typed: white, male heterosexual, differently abled into google, my findings all surrounded around disabilities. The first website discussed strategies for working with individuals who have disabilities. The next was a website called gendertrender, this article went into detail about a transgender woman who was filmed by national geographic channel"s show. The episode focused around how this woman had a secret, the secret being she was a fake paraplegic. Finally, the third website discussed 7 things never to say to. Although i typed into the search: white, male heterosexual, and differently abled, the only category of my identify google focused on was being differently abled. As a person who works with individuals with disabilities, i found this disheartening. When i was taught how to work with individuals with disabilities, my superiors told me the number one rule not treat them as an individual with disabilities.
