The axon hillock"s job: the axon hillock is a bean-counter, only when a threshold is crossed does it send a signal down the axon to the axon. It sums signals across dendrites and across time. How two neurons communicate: axon terminals do not quite touch dendritic spines, the gap is the synapse, neurotransmitters translate electrical info to chemical, neurotransmitters bind to receptors in the 2nd neuron, causes a change in the 2nd neuron. Neurotransmitters: not all neurotransmitters are excitatory, not all neurotransmitters are equal. Xiii: most of psychology has been focused on associative learning learning, but there is a more basic type of learning that is rarely discussed: discrimination associations between things. It does not require reinforcements or punishments just experience. Note that learning occurred without any reinforcement (but it would make learning happen faster) I have esp should you believe this? . In fact, our memories are probably wrong almost all of the time.
