Occipital face area also involved in face processing. Fusiform face area and/or occipital face are damaged in prosopagnosia patients. Expertise may lead to more holistic processing. Movement should be processed quickly because its bottom-up processing. We have to accurately predict our future motion and that of other objects. Central function of visual perception is to allow us to identify or recognize objects in the world around us. Cognitive processing like relating information extracted from the visual environment to our stored knowledge of objects. The pattern of light reaching the eye (retina) This is everting in the environment that a person can see. This provides unambiguous or invariant information about the layout of objects. Some parts of the optic array: optic-flow patterns, texture gradients, affordances. Texture gradient is the distortion in size, which closer objects have compared to objects farther away. Groups of objects appear denser as they move farther away.
