Terrorism- believes what they"re doing is good, way they grow up (well being). Set of factors or variables are most important in explaining outcomes. We will focus on three core approaches within the study of comparative politics. 1: people act out of shared values, norms, and the power of identities- cultural approach (culturalist) Institutions or social structure (class, where you sit in the economy)- 3. structural approach, can only act in a certain set of rules ex: all people who are civil servants will act in a particular way (structrualists) Approach- a theoretic tool or research tradition that embodies a distinct set of assumptions about: basic motivations of individuals, the relationships between individuals and groups. Also defines a distinct set of tool that an adherent of the approach etc
