Freud: made enormous contribution to culture and psychology, concerned with the idea of the unconscious (not in active awareness) Stephanie: contamination obsession: sex part of id (not aware) No empirical (scientific) support, not measurable theory & psychoanalysis as a therapy. Psychoanalysis as a therapy: event consequence.
