Document Summary

Questions will come from material covered in class including the listening and from the sections in the textbook on the subjects and composers we have discussed in class. Question format will be multiple choice and true/false. I will not draw from the global perspectives sections. Characteristics of the music in each period- i. e. melody harmony, texture, rhythm, dynamics, timbre, etc. Be familiar in general terms with the orchestra of each period. Questions from class notes and the textbook on each composer. [we will cover beethoven in our next test. ] We listened to one or more pieces from each of the composers above. Be able to associate the piece with the composer- both in a multiple choice question and by hearing it. This is in the textbook and should be in your notes. Listen to the pieces on the cd"s or go to the listen website for the interactive listening charts in the textbook and explore the pieces that way.
