Paralanguage- vocal cues that are categorized into vocal characterizers, vocal qualifiers, and vocal segregates. Territoriality- a predisposition to defend one"s exclusive domain. Proxemics- the study of the influences that distance and territoriality have on our communication aka personal space. Functional-professional- this is the least intense form of touching because it usually takes place in a professional setting and is limited to the requirements of the situation. An example of this would be a caregiver adjusting a patient"s pillow.
