Women are more likely to seek help, because gender role allows them to recognize, acknowledge, and report. Minorities for a given level of need/symptoms, are less likely to seek outpatient treatment less than white people. However, once in care, there is no difference in how often they use services. Curvilinear, youngest and oldest group have lowest rates of use. May be issue of detection, not being able to find it. Youngest and oldest are most likely to have physical health care. Not thinking that you don"t want to take medication because it means admitting you have a mental illness. Will try medication to see if it will work in their life. If medication works then maybe there is biological factor. Its biochemical, now need to find the right drug.
