In trying to understand color, researchers have come up with various models to explain how colors relate to one another. Color contrast perceptions: hue, light-dark (value, cold-warm, complementary, simultaneous, saturation (chroma, extension (color wheel) The principles of contrast in size, shape and proportion applies to color. Dimension created when two or more colors create contrast. The brighter the color, the more forward it appears: contrast of hue. 100% pure hues create most contrast and dimension. 50% pure hues create less contrast and dimension. 20% pure hues create less contrast and dimension.
