Age, poverty, gender inequality, sexual abuse, mental/ health problems, police/ political corruption, high crime, natural disasters, political unrest, war torn country. 600,000-800,000 people are trafficked across boarders each year. 80% of transnational victims are female and half are minors. It is a world-wide issue that effects at least 161 countries (as source, transit, or destination).
