Developed plantations (cash crops) such as sugar, tobacco etc. First place portuguese developed sugar plantations was islands of madeira (after getting sugar from indonesia) Fernandad the 2nd and isabella the 1st. Isabella was queen of castille, and fernandad was the king of argion and the two became married.
