The supreme court has virtually no power to enforce its decisions. Most power held by a judge is the ability to hold someone in contempt of court (scotus does not have this power) Congress can change a law, without scotus approval and therefore change the impact of a decision on a case. Statute of limitation: time frame in which one has the opportunity to sue someone. 11th circuit located in downtown atl: ga, fl, al. Currently about 180 judges, nominated by president and confirmed by senate life long tenure. Appeals court task is to determine whether or not the law was applied correctly in trial court. Below the circuit court is the district court, which is the federal trial court. Resolve disputed by determining facts and applying legal principles to decide who is right. No such thing as an elected federal judge (only appointed)
