Civil liberty is an individual freedom that places limitations on the power of government mostly the bill of rights. Civil right is an extension of government action that gives rights to all members of society. Most due process you can get is in a death penalty case. In a civil case you get the most due process when parental rights are about to be taken away. Griswold vs. connecticut- in connecticut it was a crime to give contraceptive advice to an unmarried woman. Zone of privacy was created by scotus. 14th amendment- treat similarly situated people equally.
