The fact that dance has existed for 1000"s of years is evidence of it"s value. Second line - dance/walk & twirl parasol. Rituals were used to worship[ and appease the gods. Ceremonies were more structured and stylized and the dance was seen as an artistic product. Expressive of the unconscious of a society. Something we don"t think about a lotit"s just there. Grows out of history, traditions of myths, legends and fairy tales (heroes and villains) Reflection of political climate and social commentary. As distinguished from the merely pleasing, the moral, or the useful; Responsive to the beautiful in art or nature.
