Talked about doing brain studies that looked into the theory that there might be a deep-rooted, biological and evolutionary basis to morality. Root of morality: may lie in empathy. Humans have guilt and shame, chimpanzees don"t. "call of the wild" buck in nature, "civilized i would have died for a moral consideration", under law of fang and club, "only a fool" would do so. Elie wiesel"s "night" in the nazi concentration camp: rabbi"s son leaving him behind and death of his own father. Novelists insist all great stories come down to stakes of life and death, in essence survival. I"ll die if i don"t make it on that team. Ill die if i don"t get an a. I need this person in my life. No sense of right at all, no conscience, psychopathic/sociopathic. You know the difference between right and wrong, but choose wrong. Three wrongs: deviation from law, deviation from fact, deviation from moral rectitude.
