Believe inanimate objects have feelings: teddy bears, trees, and imaginary friends, concrete operational, ages 7-11. The mastery of conservation puts a child in this stage: matter stays the same despite change in form or container. 7 years old when they start to think logically (lucky=logic=7: conservation of number. Line objects that are the same shape and size up in a perfect row and get child to agree that the number of objects in the rows are the same. Spread the second row out so it is farther apart than the row above it.
