Document Summary

Plot of con icts and con ict management styles as precursors of workplace bullying: a two-wave longitudinal study baillien. Workplace bullying refers to a long-term process (i. e. , minimum 6 months) in which minor negative acts accumulate to a pattern of systematic maltreatment. These acts may concern work-related (e. g. , withholding information) or personal issues (e. g. , gossiping, social isolation). They may harm the target"s health and well-being, and may a ect the target"s attitudes and behaviour in terms of, for example, job satisfaction, commitment, intention to leave, and absenteeism. There are scholars who see bullying as a subset or conflicts or an extreme form of conflicts. Con icts, in contrast, may be short as well as longstanding: workplace bullying has a clearly negative connotation, which is re ected in systematically directing negative acts towards a speci c employee. This model is of high importance in this article/study.
