Example: shiver need to generate heat in the muscles, goosebumps type of fur for insulation, turn blue take blood to areas of the body that needs it (core of body) Hypothalamus secretes hormones through the pituitary gland. Held in a cradle of bone at the base of the skull protection. Allows the hypothalamus to direct the body.
