Biocultural approach: perspective anthropologists take when studying humans. This perspective looks at the interactions between biology and behavior to provide insight into the human condition. Holistic: anthropology is concerned with a whole system (human) rather than individual parts. Because of this, it"s going to draw from a lot of different disciplines. Comparative (cross-cultural: anthropologists will usually look at different areas and people groups and make comparisons. Ethnocentric: a belief in the superiority of one"s own culture, behavior, or way of life. Cultural relativism : we strive for this; the view that all cultures have merit or value within their own historical and environmental context. Fieldwork: time of data collection and analysis; anything from excavation to working with an informant in a foreign country.
