Color: also called a hue: primary colors: yellow, red, blue, secondary colors: purple, green, orange, tertiary: mixed. Value: lightness/darkness of a color: also called tone darker end of the spectrum is called shade, balance: a large shape close to the center can be balanced by a small. Principles: shape close to the end: large light toned object will balance by a small dark tone object.
